Never mind the fact that Dad could be the lost twin Tim McGraw never knew he had, Devan and Brody were just born to be rock stars!! We love the Browning family! Every time we get a chance to do a session with them we always have so much fun and this time was no exception! Always up for anything, we trekked all around St Augustine, and ended up at the railroad tracks for some fun with fashion! Scott and Brandi, you are so awesome and you have the most beautiful amazing children!! Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives! We love you!

Better late than never! Last month I got to hang out with some awesome photographers! Mel & Brad of La Dolce Vita Studios along with Kara & Jeremy of Kara Pennington Photography organized a night of photography, art and collaboration for what is now known as Jax Shoot Club. It was awesome seeing my photog friends, making new ones and getting tips and tricks throughout the evening. Having a network of such talent is a blessing.

We had three scenarios: An engagement couple-Juianne & Greg, Bride & Groom-Kelly & Chris, and Day After/Solo Bridal: Lauren.

This post is WAY over due!! Last May we had the pleasure of spending the day with 4 lovely ladies. What started out as a "senior" session turned into a fun romp through cow fields, old barns, climbing fences, trodding through muddy waters, graffiti railway underpasses and a time crunch to get the girls back for a concert!! They were up for anything... so we did our best to not disappoint HA!! We had a blast and these girls ROCKED IT!!

So, without further ado...

When we decided to build a house one of the things we were looking for when finding a lot is Water.... We wanted to have a backyard with a water view and a wooded area so that we could be close to nature. When we found our spot it was just perfect! We have a large pond directly behind our house and beyond that is a natural area that is actually a wetland buffer so it can never be torn down and built on. We are very fortunate to enjoy the many different species in nature that inhabit the natural preserve just beyond our backyard. Today was no exception as I looked out the back door and saw our friend Ali the Alligator.... We lovingly named him/her a few months ago. Ali likes to visit the culvert that juts out into the pond and supplies the overflow when it rains through the drainage grids of the streets in the neighborhood. When it rains Ali swims up and sits there waiting for the rushing water to push fish and frogs practically right into her mouth! Today she was chillin in the grasses just at the edge of the pond so I ran out to snap a few shots. This is the closest I have ever been able to get to her and she is just beautiful!!! She let me come pretty close without moving so I wanted to share a few pics with you... Of course we now have to take extra precautions around the pond, but we know she is there and as long as the boundaries are respected, we can all get along happily... Hope you enjoy this beautiful creature in her natural environment! We sure do!

Facing my fears

I'm extremely afraid of tornadoes. I mean...they're my biggest fear in life! My husband and I lived in Oklahoma for a few years, and I've been through a ton of warnings, have had bags packed to run out to a safe room...and there they get HUGE. I've seen the damage from the one that hit Moore, OK. And let me tell you, in the mid-west, they have the most detailed radar for tornadoes. They can tell you exactly where that puppy is touching or hovering over. But, have never seen one. I would freak out..I mean F R E A K out! My in-laws would razz me about it once in awhile. It's the LeMarr way ;-)

So, leave it to moving back to Florida, to see my first tornado. I know my in-laws are wondering what my reaction was. I was on a MAJOR adrenaline rush! I was AMAZED! I saw it when I was leaving work. Wondering what the heck it was. A cloud going straight down to the ground. I had trees in my view for a good portion of my drive on I-10, but once I got to Stockton, BAM there it was.
Now, this is from the iphone...this is the best I could do while I was shaking. I had pulled over for this...

Once I got to the Fuller Warren bridge, traffic basically stopped. We were ALL watching it! Course, this was a water spout.
Here is another before I saw it in full on the water.

These aren't great, but for someone sitting in sloooooow moving traffic...this was the best I could do. And again, I was shaking pretty bad, but at the same time just in amazement! I call my mom screaming "THIS IS SOO FREAKING COOL!!!"
It broke apart then formed again just as I got off the atlantic exit. Then the sky dropped. I had lightning hit really close by the jeep...I felt tingles. That was soo cool!! I'm still tripping out about it. I got to watch it move around on the river! Watch it form, then lift, then form, then lift....wow!

Rockin that Baby Bump!!!

We met Faythe through one of the most amazing networking tools offered in the world today...Facebook. Faith is an International Makeup Artist who recently returned to Jacksonville with her husband to be close to her family and start their journey to parenthood. Faythe's work is amazing! She also holds makeup workshops here in Jacksonville so definitely check her out at www.faythemesic.com. For all you soon to be mommies out there, Faythe and her mother also do beautiful Henna baby bumps and belly castings if you are looking for a beautiful artistic keepsake of your belly please give her a shout! We were so excited after we met up with her to talk about different projects and shooting her maternity session. We wanted to try something different and soon found out that Faythe was gung-ho and was totally into some of the concepts we were throwing at her. We decided to take her out to Big Talbot Island. She was such a trooper and even scaled down (and then back up) 15ft sand walls to get to our location. She never once complained about the gnats, mosquitoes, and heat of the day, however once we got her in the water, I don't think she wanted to get out! Faythe's sister Charity came along with Faythe for the shoot and was just too pretty to be left out so we pulled her in for a few shots as well. We had so much fun navigating the fallen tree beach, climbing over branches and limbs,rolling around in the sand, and splashing around in the water shooting this GORGEOUS Mommy to be!! Baby Alex is due in the first week of July!! Congratulations Faythe and Kasim!! We can't wait to meet baby Alex!!

If you look ever so closely, you can see "baby" on her belly..how freaking COOL is that?!!

Impromptu Backyard Shoot...

I have been on standby to shoot these precious little boys for sometime now! Last weekend my neighbors Fran and Paul had all of their grand babies over for a BBQ and thankfully I was home and was able to come over and play with these little cutie-patooties!! We had a great time playing in the yard and eating GIGANTIC cheetos!!

Never ending pile of film

While looking at the MANY rolls of undeveloped color and b&w film...I pulled some negatives from my "archives" that I developed in my darkroom. I don't have many pulled up for you right now, but three I thought were cool. I do have more of the pow-wow from a couple years ago to post so I'm excited about that. Part 2 :)

I hope these come out well. I'm not sure how to scan them larger than they are pulling in. Any suggestions?

This is Ballys in Las Vegas. Susan and I went on a "learning conference" with our job when we worked in travel. I have more of this too but not sure what rolls they're on.

And I'm not sure where this was taken. I'll have to mess with the rest of the roll to see, but I'm not even sure if I took it here in FL. Could have been OK.

I love the color. None of these were photoshoped. I love it!!!

I'm inspired now to pull out my AE-1 and take pics on film..but what are my chances of developing it???

Krystal and Stuart met during their freshmen year at Clemson University in '00. While each were out with their own group of friends one night, they struck up a conversation at the bar at Monterrey's Mexican Restaurant, a popular local nite spot. Sparks FLEW! They became instant friends and after college, became a SMOKING HOT couple.

Fast forward to '08. One night they headed out for happy hour at one of their fave spots, Snapper Jacks, and then take a stroll on Folly Beach. They enjoyed a nice evening of drinks & food on the rooftop bar, having a great time. Krystal loves photography so she brought along her new camera, and was itching to go shoot away down at the beach. But Stuart had a plan. He knew she'd be oblivious to his surprise while she was preoccupied snapping pictures. They goofed off, played and had a great time, all the while heading to the pier for Stuarts big move. As they casually walked, his arm around her shoulders he say's "Hey, do me a favor.." as he always does, and as she turned, he was down on one knee, with a BEAUTIFUL ring in his hand! Of course..she said yes!

I met Krystal at my 9-5'er. Susan and I got to meet Stuart shortly after and we LOOOOVE them! They are the most compassionate, loving and wonderful people we have ever met. We shot their engagement session in two parts. The first was to get a picture of them for their Save The Date cards, which were needed A.S.A.P. We shot downtown and it became a overcast, cold day. We ran out of daylight rather quickly. The second part, a few weeks ago, was shot in St. Augustine. Neither had really spent time there so it was fun taking them around Flagler, The Old Fort and through St. George street. The charm of the Ol Town fit these two. Susan and I had a HARD time picking a few...so we picked a TON!

We are SO excited for your Charleston Wedding in June guys!!! WE miss you and see you soon!

A very near and dear friend of ours recently embarked on a new adventure! Cici had a grand opening party and WOW what a beautiful Salon! Debra and Bobby are dear Friends of ours and happened to be the subjects of my first Wedding shoot. Last week Debra called me up to tell me that her and Bobby were proud grandparents!! I was so excited that they asked me to come and take some photos of their grandchildren!! Mariah is 5 years old and just the most gorgeous little girl and a natural in front of the camera!! Too good as her dad exclaimed to me after showing him a few shots from my camera... Chance only one week old is sure to be a knockout as well! I had a great time playing princess paparazzi with Mariah. Chance was such a good little angel and slept most of the day! I had a great time with these two and am looking forward to coming back soon for a full on Family Session!! Amy and Derrick congratulations on your new addition! You have a beautiful family!!

Pets and Planets

I ran out in the butt freezing cold and took some pictures of the full moon tonight. From what I've heard, it's the closest it's going to be this year? Or for the next few years? I should have Googled it before I post that part....what did we do before Google?! The Celsius equivalent of Fahrenheit today? Google it! What is the square root of 456? Google it! So, I loooove taking pics of the moon. I missed the night it was crescent and close to the two planets....My tripod decide to break...with camera still attached. No, it didn't fall THANK GOD cause I'd still be in the hospital after having a nervous breakdown....off subject...so one of these days I will get an attachment to our telescope and take some KILLER pics of the moon!!

So my husband has taken up Falconry. Yeah, I was a tad shocked at first..but anyone that knows LeRoy, shouldn't be surprised. He loves animals. We've had a baby cayman before..I named him Igore. Totally Leroy's idea!! He died of bad gold fish. I think I was more upset. This was pre-kid of course!! We've had tons of dogs & cats...we have two bearded dragons...Killer Crock (my son's) and Stella (mine). She's scrawny. They do nothing but lay around and stare at you...and poop.

But..I have to say Buckbeak, our hawk, is awesome! He's beautiful!! He's a Red Tail Hawk. These are when he was first training him.

one thing I never knew is they squeak. you hear them screech when they're flying high but squeek?? that was very unexpected...

The fluffed feathers means he's a happy bird. He's comfortable with us. He lets me pet his feathers and his back with no prob. Just looks at me, squeeks...O and his eyes remind me of a camera lens, they focus in and out soo fast it's amazing!!

A lot of people ask "What happens if he flies off?" Well, he flies off. L will go back to where he flew off at and see if he'll return, which a lot of the time they will. It's fascinating to watch him fly! So graceful! I have more pics but..they're on my laptop and I'm too lazy to go get it right now.

Amber Trashes her Dress!

What can we say about Amber? Of course she's Smokin Hot! Duh! Amber is the most down to earth, true to life, real person we know. What you see is what you get and that is why we love her so much! When you hang out with Amber you never stop laughing! Of course we had a great time with this shoot we've been planning it FOREVER and finally were able to match up our schedules to "Make it work" as Tim Gunn would say... and Make it work we did! It was a chilly day and the sun was bright without a cloud in the sky. We trekked all over Jacksonville and even into St Augustine to get in all the locations we had scouted out. Amber's husband Tim was supposed to make it out for the latter portion of our shoot, but with the sun setting so early now he wasn't able to meet us in time. Oh well, that just gives us an excuse to have another shoot! Stay tuned because that session might just set us on fire!

We're excited to give an update, baby Alexander was born Nov. 11, at 11:17 am. He weighted 5 pounds 5 oz. He's healthy and strong but will have to stay at the hospital a few more days. Mom and Dad are happy and doing great! Congrats you two!! Can't wait to talk to you soon!

Every sunday morning I have a ritual. It's something I've been doing for a long time, and do it before I do aaaanything else! Before I brush my teeth, before I get dressed, before I even think about cleaning the house (blah!) I make my coffee, sit in the warm sunlight and read the sunday paper while listening to 1920's or old style jazz. At the end of my ritual, I grab all the ads and peruse through the grocery coupons and odds and ends that I want...and really don't need. Well, I come across this.....

That's eight folks, count'em EIGHT Direct TV ads!!! Is this REALLY necessary? Guess they really need customers.

I already have the service, and I like it!
I'm even more thrilled that I have local doppler radar back! Now I can stare at The Weather Channel again :) Hello friend! I missed you!!
Man, remember when cable first came out? That box with the 50 ft cable attached to the tv, and it had a slider to change the channels, and at that time it was what...50 channels? My cousins and I would run the slider up and down the box and drive my grandparents nuts! *veem veem veeeeem* I think we broke it once too. OO remember having to WALK up to the tv to CHANGE the channels??? And they had those metal antennas that you had to move around, you'd sometimes have one hand holding it and had to lift your leg in the air to get a good reception, so you'd sucker your sibling (or in my case my cousin) to stand there just so you could watch the Smurfs? O yeah, good times!!

Susan and I went to see David Jay speak in Orlando. We left with new vision and motivation for our business. It was awesome to sit and listen to his tips on business and editing, which will definitely help with ours. We've updated our website using Showit Sites. It has been easy to use, and the tech support is phenomenal!! Check it out and if you haven't checked out David Jay's seminar, Go!! Soo worth it!

I have this thing where I ALWAYS blink when I get my picture taken. This is me TRYING not to blink. This is what I end up with. Also, Susan and I had about 7 cups of coffee and one tea so we were pretty hyper, so imagine meeting one of your favorite photographers (like in my case) and be totally "blahdeblahdeblahdeblahdeblah *gaaaasp* blahdeblahdeblahdeblah" on like warp speed. I glanced at Susan and I swear she had a look on her face like "I'm SO glad I'm not related to you!!" :-) I'm a big enough dork for us all! *bowing* Thank you!

Susan and I had a B L A S T with this photo shoot. We had the privilege of doing a fashion shoot with Brittani, a certified hottie! She was such a trooper and really came prepared for our outing, and our ideas! We dealt with overcast skies (not a bad thing really) humid temps with NO breeze. Bugs, mosquitoes and something that bit me three times on my legs. Very bizarre. There are waaaaay too many photos that we love so we decided to just go nuts!!! My mom, gma and I recently went to Alabama to visit family for the weekend. Although it wasn't a normal visit...bittersweet if you will...we did enjoy the drive there and back. We talked, laughed, goofed off and ate some of the BEST BBQ!!! I'll post the name of the place in a bit. On the way back to FL, I was itching to take pictures of some places we passed on the way up. Mom and mam were very patient as I stopped and ran to shoot. I loooooove finding out of the way places, abandoned buildings, odds and ends...such life in things that are no longer being used. Since we drove the rural highway, there was plenty to see! I love spontaneous photography. No time to plan, just shoot.

When Lil L and I pulled up into our drive one afternoon there was something odd and rather...huge by our driveway wall. It wasn't moving....so we slowly walked up to it and noticed it was a turtle stuck upside down. Once we got up close he began to move. Poor thing had to have been stuck there awhile because he was pretty dry and wasn't too freaked out about us...yet!! I carefully picked him up and placed him in the grass...I wasn't in the mood to lose a finger if he was a snapping turtle...I ran into the house and grabbed a box. Lil L decided to name him Tortie ;) So we gathered up Tortie and headed over to a pond that was 1/2 a block away. Once we got there, we slowly tipped the box over and he hauled turtle butt into the lake. I've never seen one move that fast!! Blows that tortoise and the Hare theory out the window!!! Heeheheeh. So, with a little sad face, and a wave, we said good-bye to Tortie. Then for the next 10 min all I heard was..."I miss Tortie..." *sigh* guess we'll be getting a turtle soon. Add to our collection of animals (mini-zoo)...but that's another blog post!!! Wait till the newest addition comes in...I'll keep ya posted.

The Birds and the Bees...or was that a bird?

Last year I had posted some shots of our beautiful friends the Hummers. They are only here 3-4 months out of the year and while here they fatten up for their long trip south for the winter. July through August is really a peak time for them and they are out in force this year. As soon as we walk out the door you hear these crazy buzzing and whirring sounds and a distinctive chirping as they are flying around dive bombing each other fighting over the nectar trees, plants and the strategically placed feeders we have hanging from our windows. When the buzz past you it almost sounds like they are really HUGE bees and your immediate reaction is to duck! They are very territorial and will chase each other off of their favorite feeding spots. This time of year we are changing our feeders out every couple of days! They are literally drinking us out of house and home!! :) Well they REALLY come out when it rains and right after the rains I have a chance at catching them in action. When I say Chance I really mean it! They are sooo fast! Their wings beat at about 50 beats per second! So to capture them on camera is really a challenge. Yesterday we had a nice rain and shortly after I ran outside for about an hour and was finally able to get some shots! So as promised...here is this years brood...

Backyard Beauties....

Oh how I love lazy sundays! We have a great backyard that borders a small pond and natural area. We love to sit out back and enjoy all the beauties of nature we are so blessed to have a birds eye view of. Last year I posted about our humming birds that come in every summer... they are back but I have yet to get any good shots...i'm outta practice and those little guys move fast!! I'm working on it though and I will definatly post our new brood as soon as I can. This day though we had some other flying beauties I wanted to share...Nature is truly amazing! Here are some flying bugs but don't be squimish!!

This guy was like..."Yes you may take my picture but you must do it fast" Icouldn't get him to smile..he was too grouchy..:)

When they told us his name I immediatly thought Brody Man...cool!! Mall Rats is one of those all time cult classics must see movies. Brody (Jason Lee) was one of the main charaters who was self absorbed in video games and comic books and looses his girlfriend to the hunky guy in the mall who is really only after one thing..well those of you who haven't seen the movie and want a good laugh at a goofy, silly, coming of age movie..check it out. Now back to the Baby! This is Mr Brody who is the new baby brother of the beautiful Ms Devan and son to Brandi and Scott.

What a beautiful addition to a beautiful family! We had so much fun shooting this baby boy after having shot Brandi's maternity only a few weeks before. I am still amazed by the miracle of life and the strength and beauty of the women that give birth....Welcome to the world Brody!

I had the wonderful pleasure of having my Nephew Alex come for a visit last week. He is out of school for the summer and was able to come up and spend almost a whole week with us! Thankfully we have some great kids on my street and before long Alex had made some new friends. One of the things Alex loves in life is skateboarding so he and his new found friends (who also love skateboarding) spent many hours skating and practicing tricks in front of my house. Well after a long day of working and watching them enjoy themselves from my office window I decided to grab my camera and see if I could catch them in action! Man it was tough! They enjoyed being photographed and I got in some practice myself! Tell me what you think!

I loooove Georgia!!
My mom, grandma and I took a trip up to Savannah for Mothers Day. I had never been there (just the outskirts) so it was something I was reaaaally looking forward to. We started in the historic district. Before we got there, we stopped for directions. Found this really cool diner. I started to take pics of the diner as mom got a loooong description on how to get to the main square. It took the kid (I think he was 20) five min to basically tell us we needed to go just down the road from where we were.

There was this art festival that a local elementary school was holding.

There were these crosswalk lights that yelled at you and counted down to when you'd get hit..

..totally kidding, about the getting hit part, but it really kinda yell at ya..would say loudly "PLEASE WAIT!" several times till you pretty much yelled back "I AM!"...at least I did.
Then it would count down how long you had to walk.

We ate at The Pirate's House..Soo yummy!

After leaving, we tried to find Lady and Sons, got weird directions, got lost, called susan in a panic....found parking FINALLY and walked till we found it.

But we didn't go in.

Tried to find Bonaventure Cemetery but got lost (again) but found Catholic Cemetery

More Sex Please

So Susan, my mom and I went to see Sex And The City and I have to say..FABULOUS!!! We LOOOVED it!! We forgot our cameras too!! I had tickets for the early evening show, which was great and our theatre wasn't too packed. A few guys here and there (course I'm sure they had NOOO idea what SATC is REALLY about *wink*) but overall it was great! You could tell we women were having SATC withdraws!! We of course clapped & screamed at the opening tune, laughed hard on many many parts, teared up on more, and just really enjoyed the 'other' parts! What a great way to start the summer ;) So, now I sit here working on a logo, with my moms big tv (which I'm babysitting), watching more SATC season five....again, and again and again. I may have to go see the movie a couple more times before it leaves the theatre...anyone with me?

He, (my cousin) a musician who could pick up any instrument and play anything you want. She, a beautiful ballet dancer and drummer for a band. They played together in a local Jacksonville band Crash the Satellites. I remember at Thanksgiving the year before last, he was smiling and gushing about her. We hadn't met yet, but I could tell he was smitten. It was a different side to Dan I had never seen. I met her at our family Trimming Tree party shortly after that. She was soo sweet and fun to talk to..she still is ;) Susan and I got to shoot their wedding and we had a GREAT time!
Such a beautiful day, the wedding was held at Old St. Paul's Episcopal Church in San Marco, and we celebrated with wonderful friends and family. It was a bit weird being behind the camera at a family wedding, but I was loving every min of it, and with my best friend by my side :)

Cinco de Mayo is busy time for me at work!! My full-time job that is...
So is St. Patty's day, and biketoberfest, octoberfest..well any drinking day really!!

This originally started out as a "happy crappy monday" image, but, with it being Cinco de Mayo, I jazzed it up a bit! We've had a lot go on lately! Better late than never! We shot this family back in December in Green Cove Springs for X-Mas cards for them to send out. We got together with Marisol, her two beautiful children, her sister and their sweet sweeeet parents!! They were so much fun! We ran around and played in the leaves, swung on the swings (did that sound right?) and ran through the playground and the x-mas trees they had showcased in the town center.

I've been down & out since last weekend :( I was in bed most of last weekend due to a sinus migraine that lasted two days and lingered for a third. Then wednesday, a taunting pulled muscle monster crept up on me and slammed me down for days. Today is better, but I won't be swinging from the rafters any time soon. Not that we have rafters....but if we did, I would have to pass.
So, today, being a beeeuuutiful day, I wanted to photo Goldie. Goldie is our Pembroke Corgie. So super sweet!! We got her from a couple of friends of ours. She used to be a show dog, and won quite a few ribbons. I KNOW, I haven't put her on the site or anything, but she knows when the camera is out, and she turns her back to me. No amount of whistling, squeaking, making kiss noises or fart noises for that matter (with my lips!!) will get her to look at me. So unlike our cat Frodo, who will sit and be suave for me. Like "I'm ready for my close up! Come human come!"

Wow!! I've known Robert since we were 15yrs old, that was about...o 16 yrs ago..man do I feel old!! Amanda, Robert and I were good friends in high school & I got to shoot her wedding November in 06. Robert and Shayna got married at the Jax Beach Pier, on the day about 500 seniors decided to skip school, and meet there...and alot of fights broke out. Well, needless to say, the wedding must go on!! ;) We all moved onto the pier and well, the sweetest people I know got married over the water.

Anyone that knows me, knows I'm a techi-geek!! I love technological things that I can play with. If it's something that helps me do what I do that much easier...I'm allll over it. Then, there are the things I DON'T need, that are just too darn cool..and I HAVE TO HAVE IT! Ok like the iphone...I don't really need it, but it's a mac, and it's cool, and I HAVE TO HAVE IT, however, I don't have $400 dollars....so, when I had to upgrade my razr, the Sony Ericsson walkman phone caught my eye....very very VERY cool!!! I loove it! There is soo much to do with it, and just this morning, I was able to send a voice text message to sus! Instead of me calling and waking her up, and instead of wearing my poor lil thumb out texting what I wanted her to know, I saw "voice message" and gave it a shot. Preeeeety cool!! Just recorded my dorky self, then sent like a text. Boom! Done! If this is something that most phones had already, well, I just hated my razr too much to care to mess with it. If this is truely a new feature, ROCK ON!!!

Susan and I took Maureen out for her Trash the dress session. We walked around St. Augustine in what HAD to be the BEST light!!!! She was such a trouper while we had hecklers yelling "DONT DO IT". One tour trolly rode by and everyone, and I mean
E V E R Y O N E in sync went "AWWWWW!!" and all clapped!! One Horse Carriage company let us hijack her carriage for a few pictures. She was super sweet! Country Carriages, tell them the two crazy photographers with the bride sent ya!! Maureen was soo gorgeous and the day was just beautiful! Thanks M!!

Why I'm a Mac!!

I feel soooo bad for my mom!! She bought a gateway just at a month and had to take it in for repairs last weekend. We get it back yesterday and they had to replace her motherboard. The geeksquad told me all I had to do was a system restore. Well, after two nights of fighting with it, there is something wrong with the wireless switch. It's just not working. I brought it home with me to see if it would pick up my router (which it did when we brought the sucker home from the store) and nope, no juice. I"M sooooo mad and feel soooo bad for her. She hasn't had it very long and it's all messing up. Not only that, I'm sooo over windows (it's vista!!) asking me every move I make if I'm sure I want to do it. "Are you suuure you want to do that, are you sure you're sure you want to do that?? Are you absolutely positively sure you're sure you're SURE you want to do that??? goooood grief!!! Why do you need permission??? Just do it!!! OHHHH EERFH I hate not being able to figure something out like that!! I even have to use a pc at work and it royally sucks!! Last night I met up with my photographer friend Star Bradshaw and talk about our love for photography, how far we've come from photographing in manual for several several years to finally bring our passion of film to the level of digital, and making a biz out of it. Susan and I have been testing different waters, finding our niche, and deciding which current to float along to. In reflecting last nights conversation, and our current issues, I came across this site and its very detailed information. It's definitely a must read!

"TIME of the CUSTOM PHOTOGRAPHER:

Approaching it from a time standpoint, for instance let’s imagine if you will that you have hired a photographer who has work that you love and that is travelling an hour to your on location session. TIme break down:

* session prep time (30 mins - 1 hour, includes equipment and back up equipment checks + vehicle checks)
* one hour travel time TO session
* 15-30 minutes prep time at client’s home
* 90 minutes-2 hours with client photographing subject
* one hour travel time FROM session
* 30-45 minutes uploading time from digital cards from camera to computer
* 30-45 minutes time spent backing up the original images
* 2-5 hours editing time to present you with a diverse gallery of edited images
* 1 hour prep time getting ready for ordering
* 2-3 hours time with client for ordering images
* 1 hour sorting through and checking order

As you can see, average client time for a session ranges from just under 13 hours to 19 hours dependent on the photographer’s level of service. This is time dedicated only to your session. When the photographer charges $150-$300 for the photo shoot you are not just paying for the two hours of session time, you are paying the photographer for 12-19 hours complete time for your session."

Yesterday I took a trip home to my mom's to visit. It's always great to go home when I can. Mom always makes great food and lots of it! My nephew Alex was also up to visit from South Florida. It's always awesome to see him! Since he lives in S. Fl and we live all the way up here in Jax, our visits are far between and always too short! But when he goes to Ocala to visit his dad I try to make it down there when I can. He just turned 16 and is such a handsome young man! This time we took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed out for some fun on a little photo shoot. We had a great time and got some awesome shots!

Dan and Julia Engaged!!

Wow wow wow!!! My cousin Dan is getting married to Julia (who is like soo awesome!!)
and Susan and I got to take their engagement pictures. Talk about chemistry!!!
They were full of ideas on where they wanted to go, and were troopers doing it in really bad weather. It stormed BIG time and was like 30 below...well not really THAT cold, not in Florida anyway, but it felt like it!! We went all around Five Points, Riverside and Downtown to the Buritto Gallery. We can't WAIT to shoot the wedding guys!! XOXOXO
